Do you believe in New Year’s Resolutions?
Or I guess its more accurate to say I believe our approach to the NYR doesn’t work.
If you think about it, all a New Year’s Resolution is, is a commitment you make to yourself to achieve something different or create a different habit that should in some way ameliorate your life.
So let me ask you another question; do you believe in destiny?
I refuse to believe people are destined for a certain career, bank balance, love life, athletic success, health status or anything else for that matter.
If you do not believe in destiny it means you believe our lives are somewhat-to-largely within our control.
But it doesn’t always feel like that does it?
No matter if there’s a career change you wish you had the courage make or a health goal which you believe couldn’t possibly be within reach for someone like you, we all end up getting stuck in our own heads from time to time with our fears, our sunk costs and our memories of failed past attempts.
It’s not a nice feeling – believe me; I’ve been there so many times in the past 5 years I’ve lost count!
So how do we move past self-doubt and towards success?
I intend to use the barbELLE blog to document my journey on this path and I hope that as I share my learnings with you, dear reader, that you’ll find some inspiration and momentum to keep pushing along in your own journey, whatever that may be.
